The Rules
Like all good RPGs, Rodentia needs a rules system that GMs and Players can use to interact with the game world. To date, no concrete rules have been decided upon by the creators of Rodentia, but there have been many good proposals.
What We Need
Any rules proposition should include at least the following elements:
- Core Mechanic - A generic formula for the resolution in-game actions
- Character Rules - Rules governing characters
- Stats - The values that describe a character's in-game capabilities
- Skills - Abilities characters can utilize
- Customization - Advantages/Disadvantages; things that make characters different and unique.
- Character Creation - How you make a character
- Combat Rules - Rules governing combat
- Melee Combat - Combat with melee weapons
- Ranged Combat - Combat with ranged weapons
- Attack - Offensive actions
- Defense - Defensive options
- Damage - How much damage attacks deal, how much damage a character can take, and the effects of said damage
- Magic Rules - Rules governing the interaction of magic with the game world
- Schools - The discrete divisions between differing applications of magical power
- Spells - Specific applications of arcane power
- Items - The Enhancement and/or creation of magically-imbued items
